What is the shelf-life of the Exfoliating Grains, and do they go off?

Because this premium formula is entirely waterless, it does not easily breed bacteria, giving it an exceptional shelf-life of 12 months once opened (and up to 24 months unopened). However, if water accidentally contaminates the inside of the bottle, it can compromise this stability. As long as the loose powder remains bone-dry inside its housing, the active Bromelain and Papain enzymes will stay perfectly stable and fully potent down to the final grain.

Will the enzymes remain active if I activate the powder with cold water?

While the fruit enzymes will still function with cold water, they perform at their absolute peak when mixed with lukewarm water. Plant enzymes are temperature-responsive; warm fluid acts as the perfect catalyst to rapidly kick-start the proteolytic activity of the Bromelain and Papain molecules, ensuring maximum texturizing potency the second the paste touches your face.
