Purslane (Portulaca oleracea) - also known as Pigweed and by several Aboriginal names, including Munyeroo, is rich in vitamins A (as beta-carotene), C and E (alpha-tocopherol) as well as Glutathione, a power-house anti-oxidant that brightens skin. It also promotes the pro-aging enzyme telomerase which protects the cells' DNA repair function. Purslane has skin-soothing properties and is also a good source of potassium, magnesium, calcium and phosphorous that feed good skin. Purslane is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids which help to regulate the skin's oil production.

Commelina (Commelina cyanea) is an Australian native that grows mainly on the eastern coastal areas. It is exceptionally high in Vitamin C. It was eaten by the first white sailors in Australia to alleviate scurvy caused by Vitamin C deficiency, hence its common name, Scurvy Weed.

Purslane and Commelina Gentle Balancing Toner also contains Gluconolactone, a gentle PHA (Polyhydroxy Acid) that mildly exfoliates and hydrates, and Certified Organic Tasmanian Mountain Pepper Berry (Tasmannia lanceolata) which is an instant anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory.

Manuka Honey is made by bees who feed exclusively on Leptospermum scoparium, a species of tea tree endemic only to eastern Australia and New Zealand. The organic manuka honey used in Founder's Formula products is harvested from bees who feed on Leptsospermum that grow wild on the sand dunes of Guugu Yimmithirr country in Cape York Peninsula.#
